COMPETITION RULES

Phase 1 - "Startup Idea Pitching"

Timeline: Expected to take place from September 30 - November 30, 2024
Content:

Individuals and project teams participating in the competition’s qualifying round (hereafter referred to as “Contestants”) must submit their project proposals on the competition’s official website.

The application package includes:

Registration form
Detailed project proposal
Startup idea summary presentation

The organizing committee will establish a judging panel for the qualifying round, consisting of experienced lecturers specializing in startup mentoring from academic institutions.

Competition Format:

The submitted applications will be evaluated and scored by the judging panel based on the criteria outlined in the Qualifying Round’s scoring rubric.
After the preliminary assessment, the panel will select the top 30 outstanding startup ideas/projects.
The results of the qualifying round will be officially announced in December 2024 via the official competition website and IUH’s fan page.

All ideas will be showcased on the Startup Idea Pitching section of the official website www.startup.iuh.edu.vn.

Phase 2 - Developing Ideas into Products and Commercialization

Following Phase 1 - Startup Idea Pitching, the Organizing Committee will proceed to Phase 2, which focuses on refining startup ideas into tangible products and commercializing them.

Timeline: Expected to take place from January 6, 2025, to April 12, 2025.

Location: Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, No. 12, Nguyen Van Bao Street, Ward 4, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City.

Teams selected for the semi-final round will receive mentorship and support to refine their products.

Competition Format:

Part 1: Refining Product Ideas & Online Voting (06/01 - 17/03/2025)

Research and design a brand identity package, and develop a business plan for the project (10 points).
Teams will create TVC (advertising videos) to promote their ideas/products. Videos will be uploaded to the official fanpage to gather votes from the community (20 points). Voting points are calculated based on engagement on the https://www.facebook.com/iuhstartup as follows: 1 like = 1 point, 1 share = 3 points. Based on the voting results, the Organizing Committee (OC) will total the points: the team with the highest engagement will receive 20 points, the following teams will receive 2 points, and teams ranking 10th or lower will receive 0 points.

Part 2: Presentation on April 12, 2025

Contestants will present their products and startup ideas in 5 minutes before the Judging Panel.

The score for this part will be based on the total number of successful transactions of the idea/product and evaluation from the Judging Panel.
The top 10 teams with the best ideas and products will qualify for the Final Round.

Final Score Calculation for the Semi-Final Round:

Total Score = Part 1 Score + Part 2 Score

FINAL ROUND – AWARD CEREMONY

Timeline: Expected to take place on June 12, 2025.

Teams advancing to the Final Round will receive mentorship to refine their products and competition ideas.

Presentation Round

Location: Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City.

Competition Format:

Contestants must prepare a detailed business plan, clearly defining each member’s role and implementation strategy.
Contestants will present (maximum 5 minutes), defend, and persuade the judging panel (maximum 10 minutes).
The audience will participate in voting for the "Most Popular Project" during the Final Round. This voting result will be combined with the Semi-Final voting results to determine the winner of this category.
